HUGHES, Ark. — The Hughes Police Department has been designated as inactive and removed from service due to not meeting certain standards, according to the Arkansas Department of Public Safety.
According state police, the Hughes Police Department failed to comply with law enforcement training standards.
In the Arkansas Commission on Law Enforcement Standards and Training, an inactive law enforcement agency is described as one that “existed and operated under state law or local ordinance in the past but that currently does not exist or has not operated for at least six months,” state police said.
