Human remains found in Southaven park, police investigating

The Southaven Police Department said Central Park will stay closed Monday, Feb. 26, as police continue to investigate.

SOUTHAVEN, Miss — Police are investigating after human remains were found over the weekend at Central Park in Southaven. 

The Southaven Police Department (SPD) said they received the call about the discovery Sunday, Feb. 25. Once police arrived, officers determined the remains were human. 

The remains will be sent to the Mississippi Crime Lab for additional testing. SPD said the park will stay closed Monday, Feb. 26, as police continue to investigate.
