“School of Rock” is now playing at the Orpheum Theater, and it stars an actor who calls Memphis home.
Based on the hit film, the musical follows Dewey Finn, a wannabe rock star posing as a substitute teacher. He turns a class of straight-a students into a guitar-shredding rock band.
10-year-old Sami Bray is from Memphis and stars as firecracker band manager, Summer Hathaway. She’s excited to be back home.
“It’s incredible to be able to perform in my home city. I get to stay at my house and all my friends get to come to the show.”
“School of Rock: The Musical” will be at the Orpheum through this Sunday.
