If you’re out drinking this New Year’s Eve, don’t get out on the roads. The Mississippi Highway Patrol will be out in full force with their “Home for the Holidays” safety initiative for the new year to make sure you and everyone else celebrating the holiday gets home safe.
Officials say the holiday enforcement period will begin just after midnight December 31 and will continue until midnight Wednesday.
Last year, troopers responded to 92 crashes across the Magnolia State during the new year period.
