A man is charged with attempted murder after shooting at witness, according to an affidavit from Shelby County court records.

Tavious Wilson is charged with attempted first-degree murder, attempted retaliation for past actions, and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony. He is in the Shelby County Jail on $1,000,000 bond.

Memphis Police responded to an aggravated assault on May 2 in the area of James Road and Raleigh-Millington Road, according to an affidavit. Officers said they spoke to a man who told them his sister's boyfriend followed him from court and shot at him from a vehicle. The man told police that he testified at 201 Poplar for a shooting that took place in January where he was shot by the same man multiple times following an argument.

This victim told police that after he was done testifying, he had to drop off his mother and as he drove out of the apartment complex he recognized the vehicle that belonged to Tavious Wilson, according to the affidavit.

He called 911 at that point and shared the situation before he tried to lose Wilson, according to the affidavit. The victim was unfamiliar with many street names in the area he was in, but Wilson caught up to him in the area of James Road and Raleigh Millington Road, according to the affidavit.

The affidavit said police were told that Wilkson pointed a handgun at the victim before firing. The victim said it sounded like a machine gun, according to the affidavit.

The victim's vehicle was struck and Wilson drove away continuing on James Road, and the victim was able to find the Austin Peay police precinct and met with officers, according to the affidavit.

The victim identified Wilson in a photo lineup, according to the affidavit. Wilson had been released on a $10,000 bond for the shooting incident in January.
