Methodist Le Bonheur Healthcare has named Florence Jones, RN, DNP, Chief Executive Officer of Methodist North Hospital. Jones, who previously served as Chief Nursing Officer and interim CEO for Methodist North will begin her new role effective immediately. 

“Dr. Jones has an outstanding track record as a leader at Methodist Le Bonheur Healthcare,” said Methodist Le Bonheur Healthcare President and CEO Michel Ugwueke. “Her energy, focus and total commitment to the mission and vision of this organization made her a natural fit for the job.”

Jones’ 41-year career in healthcare includes 25 years of healthcare administration and leadership roles including serving as chief nursing officer at Methodist South before joining the leadership team as CNO at Methodist North.

Prior to Joining Methodist in 2008, Jones held leadership positions in healthcare systems across the southeast including serving as chief administrative officer and CNO for Delta Regional Medical Center in Greenville Miss., COO for Putnam Community Medical Center in Palatka, Fla., COO for River Region Healthcare in Vicksburg, Miss. and First Lieutenant Army Nurse Corp for the United States Army Reserve.

I’m committed now, more than ever to working closely with our medical staff, community partners and Associates to continue serving our community well.”

Jones earned a bachelor’s degree in nursing from Murray State University, a master’s degree in nursing administration from the University of Evansville and a Doctorate of Nursing Practice from Union University. She is a licensed registered nurse (RN); Nurse Executive, Advanced- Board Certified (NEA-BC); former board examiner for the Tennessee Center for Performance Excellence and Fellow in the American College of Healthcare Executives.
