Memphis police say a shooting early Friday morning was the result of a fight between a couple that took a deadly turn. It happened about 2:30 a.m. in the 3000 block of Signal Street in Frayser.
Police say they received a call from a man who told them he had been involved in a shooting. Investigators say another man and woman had gotten into a fight, when that man went and got a gun. So the man who called police says he also went and got a gun, and ended up shooting the man who was fighting with the woman.
The man who was shot died at the scene. The other man was taken into custody, but no charges have been filed.
