There is a new leader of Shelby County Schools at least for a little while.
Shelby County Schools named Dr. Joris Ray as the new interim superintendent.
We will take the position when Dorsey Hopson leaves the district in January.
Dr. Ray is currently the Assistant Superintendent of Academic Operations and School Support.
“I was once a child in this school district; I love this school district. I taught in this district, I want what is best for the teachers, principals, and most of all the children of this district,” said Ray
The school board voted to allow Ray to apply for the permanent position.
