Southaven Police chief announces retirement after 34 years on the force

Chief Macon Moore announced he's retiring at the end of January.

SOUTHAVEN, Miss — Southaven Police Chief Macon Moore announced his retirement from the Southaven Police Department Tuesday effective Jan. 30. 

Southaven Police said Moore expressed deep gratitude for the unwavering support of the department, colleagues, and the community throughout his 34-year tenure with the police department.

Moore was named Chief in 2019.

In his retirement statement, Moore conveyed eagerness to embark on new opportunities in life while expressing profound gratitude for the "honor and privilege" of serving as the police chief of the Southaven Police Department.
