In the last two months half a dozen people in the mid-south were accidentally shot, and that’s why Local 24 is a media partner of Project Childsafe.
On October 17th, Volunteers at six locations across Memphis will hand out free gun safety locks.
The Pursuit of God Transformation Center in Frayser is one of the locations.
“Preventative medicine is the best form of medicine, and what we’re doing. We are giving people an opportunity to step in and can prevent the death of a child,” says Pastor Ricky Floyd.
Thanks to a federal grant, Memphis will receive 10,000 additional free gun safety locks in the next two years.
