Walmart will sell Thanksgiving dinners at a lower price than last year

ALDI also announced price cuts for Thanksgiving favorites.

BENTONVILLE, Ark. — With shoppers concerned about rising prices, Walmart is among stores offering promotions hoping to appeal to budget-conscious shoppers, promising to "remove inflation" to sell Thanksgiving meals at lower prices than last year.

Starting Nov. 1, Walmart will lower prices on traditional Thanksgiving meal options like turkey, ham, stuffing and pumpkin pie. The retail giant will offer two discounted meal options: one focusing on ingredients for those who prefer to cook their meal from scratch, and another with more convenient, ready-to-bake meal options.

The promotional prices will last through Dec. 26, 2023, Walmart said. In 2022, Walmart ran a similar promotion in which it advertised "this year's Thanksgiving meal at last year's price."

Grocery chain ALDI is also lowering prices on holiday foods. Price reductions of up to 50% across the store will include items like gravy, potatoes, cheddar cheese, crackers, green beans, cranberries and pie crusts, in addition to staples like butter and flour. Discounts will last through the end of the year.
