LAKELAND, Tenn. (localmemphis.com) – Investigators are working to figure out what happened in an upscale neighborhood in Lakeland where one person was shot to death and another critically injured.
A neighbor who lives just a couple of doors down from where this shooting happened is in disbelief.
Shelby County Sheriff Deputies day one person was shot and killed at a home in the 9100 block of Wren Hill. Authorities believe the shooting may be domestic. A second person at that home was rushed to the hospital in critical condition.
One neighbor found out about the shooting on the Nextdoor app and described seeing deputy vehicles passing her home around 6:30 tuesday evening.
“You don’t think of it as a crime happening or you certainly don’t hope for that to happen. It’s just the more that kept coming, the more serious it seemed. The crime scene tape, that’s when a chill goes down your back,” said Marcy Meeker
Officials haven’t released the identity of the person who died.
