MEMPHIS, Tenn. — In Friday's Ransom Note, there's proof in the numbers.
I continue to be amazed by the number of emails we get and postings on social media I see disputing whether the vaccine does any good.
"People who get vaccinated still get COVID," they'll say.
But, numbers shared on Friday by Memphis Mayor Jim Strickland of COVID patients in the Baptist Hospital right now show why it absolutely matters.
Of all the patients hospitalized right now, 84.75% aren't vaccinated. Those who got vaccinated but didn't get their booster make up 14.35% of the patients.
Patients who got their booster make up just .9%.
Your little chance of avoiding the ICU is even better. Almost 89% of COVID patients in intensive care are unvaccinated, but didn't have their booster.
There are no patients in ICU right now with COVID who've had their booster shot.
It may be your choice not to get vaccinated, but let's stop pretending it doesn't matter.
