MEMPHIS, Tenn. — College Basketball Insider for CBS Sports Jon Rothstein tweeted out Friday that Memphis' Jaykwon Walton plans to enter the transfer portal.

The senior spent two seasons at Georgia, one at Shelton State CC and one at Wichita State before joining the Tigers in 2023-24.

A source close to the program told ABC24 Walton has not entered the portal yet and according to them he does not have any eligibility remaining.

Walton averaged 8.3 points and 4.9 rebounds a game.

The senior becomes the fifth player to enter the portal this offseason. On Thursday guard Jayhlon Young committed to Vermont. Menawhile Memphis forward Jonathan Pierre, guard Carl Cherenfant and forward Ashton Hardaway remain in the portal.

Memphis has picked up two big signings by way of transfer guard PJ Haggerty and transfer Dain Dainja. They also signed guard Jared Harris in November.
