Bruno Lapa nets a brace as 901 FC cruise to a 3-0 win in the Southern Harm Derby

Bruno Lapa puts on a masterclass as Memphis 901 FC pick up a 3-0 win over Birmingham Legion FC in the Southern Harm Derby.

The result snaps 901 FC's five-match losing streak in league play.

Memphis dominated Birmingham for most of the match and opened the scoring four minutes in.

Marlon Santos dribbled his was into the right side of the box and dinked a pass on the ground to Lapa who expertly dispatched a shot past Fernando Delgado for the opening goal.

Lucas Turci doubled the lead 13 minutes later with a goal-of-the-season contender. Birmingham attempted to clear a cross but the ball bounced right to the Brazilian and he launched the ball on the half-volley and into the the bottom left corner.

901 FC's defense held strong throughout the game and goalkeeper Tyler Deric made six important saves. Birmingham managed 15 shots with only six on target.

Memphis had less shots (6) but created 3 clear-cut chances and scored on all three but Birmingham managed to create just one clear-cut chance.

Lapa created one of the clear-cut chances to stamp out any threats of a comeback.

The former Legion FC midfielder initiated a fast break and found Santos on the left wing.

The Brazilian winger played the ball back to his compatriot and Lapa finished off the move with a clinical finish into the bottom-left corner.

Memphis' backline continued to stifle Birmingham's attacks as 901 FC secured a 3-0 win.

The result marks Deric's and 901 FC's first clean sheet of the season.

901 FC sit 10th in the Western Conference with six points and now have a goal differential of minus-two.

Memphis will return home and face the unbeaten Tampa Bay Rowdies on May 5th.
