Ole Miss Women's Golf crowned NCAA Bermuda Run Regional Champions

For the first time in program history, the Rebels are named Regional Champions. The win also sees the team advance to the NCAA Championships.

BERMUDA RUN, N.C. — The Ole Miss women's golf team won their first regional title in program history on Wednesday at the NCAA Bermuda Run Regional. The win sees the team punch their ticket to the NCAA Championships for the second straight year and the fifth time in program history.

The Rebels began the day in a tie for second, but six shots back from the lead. Ole Miss shot their lowest 18-hole postseason score in program history of 279 (-9) to defeat defending national champions in Wake Forest and Big 12 Champions in Texas to secure the title and become one of five teams to advance.

"We know we have the right girls in place here and the fight down the stretch was really impressive, super proud of each and every one of them," head coach Kory Henkes said. "It's a really tough field and to get a win here is quite impressive."

The Rebels notched 21 birdies and 57 pars on Wednesday which saw them finish the tournament second in par-4 scoring (+8), par-5 scoring (-20) and birdies (55). The Rebels also shot their best 54-hole postseason performance in program history, tying the overall tournament low score of 843 (-21).

Caitlyn Macnab led the Rebels, finishing the week at 12-under to earn her third career individual title. Off the back of four birdies on the back nine, Macnab finished her final round shooting 67 (-5).

The Rebels now prepare for the 2024 NCAA Women's Golf Championship from May 17-22 at the Omni La Costa Resort & Spa in Carlsbad, California.

Ole Miss begins 54-holes of stroke play on the 17th. Following the 54 holes, the top 15 teams along with the top nine individuals will advance for one additional round of stroke play to determine the final eight teams for match play. The final eight teams will be seeded for match play to determine the national champion.

The Rebels were crowned national champions back in 2021 and will look to achieve the same feat later this month.
