Police involved accident shut down all eastbound traffic on I-40 at Warford St.

The scene has now been cleared, and all lanes are reopened. Two police officers and one civilian were transported to the hospital in non-critical condition.

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Memphis Police Department shut down traffic on I-40 at Warford St. Monday, April 25 due to a police involved car accident where two officers and one civilian were injured.

According to MPD, officers were working an accident on I-40 eastbound, east of Warford when their vehicle was hit from behind. 

The two officers sitting in the police car at the time of the crash. Both officers and the responsible party were transported to the hospital in non-critical condition.

The scene was cleared, and lanes were reopened within two hours of the interstate closure.
