MEMPHIS, Tenn — The City of Memphis announced South Second St. between Union Ave. and Peabody Place, as well as Gayoso Avenue between South Second St. and November 6th St., will be totally closed between Oct. 30 at 2 a.m. and 11:59 p.m. on Oct. 31.

The City said the roads are closed to allow a contractor to set up a crane that will be used for replacing cooling towers on the rooftop of the Peabody Hotel.

They advise drivers to use an alternate route during the duration of the closure and to expect delays.

The signed detour routes will make use of Union Avenue, Fourth Street and Peabody Place, according to the City.

For additional information, the City advises you to contact Josiah Panté with Barnhart at 901-271-6502.
