Memphis police investigating multiple weekend shootings

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — There have been multiple separate shootings starting on Saturday in the city of Memphis, according to the Memphis Police Department (MPD).

Memphis Police said a suspect in a black sedan drove away from a shooting that took place in the area of Western Park and Tomahawk early Saturday.

 Officers said they responded shortly after 3 a.m. and found three victims. These people were transported to Regional One in critical condition.

A 24-year-old woman, a 25-year-old man and a 31-year-old woman were transported there.

MPD said another shooting took place at 3209 Coleman Road. A man was found and transported to Regional One in critical condition. 

Officers said they responded shortly before noon.

A shooting also took place before police responded to an ambulance call in the 3100 block of Belle Grove, according to MPD.

Officers said they responded shortly before 12:30 a.m. to find one man who was dead on the scene.

The victim knew the suspect, according to MPD, and they said this is an ongoing investigation.

Another shooting took place at 4509 Stage Road, according to MPD. Officers said they responded around 1 p.m. and found a man that they transported to Regional One. This victim was in critical condition until he died in the hospital, MPD said.

MPD said another shooting took place at the 5100 block of Christopher Drive.

A woman was found and transported to Regional One in critical condition. One man is detained, according to MPD.

Officers said they responded shortly after 4 p.m.
