17-year-old charged in June 2023 southeast Memphis shooting that killed two teens

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Memphis Police have arrested a 17-year-old in a June 2023 shooting that killed two other teens in southeast Memphis.

Alvin Davis is charged with two counts of first-degree murder. He is in the Shelby County Jail on $250,000 bond.

According to MPD, officers responded to the shooting in the 6000 block of Valleydale Dr. about 11:50 a.m. on Sunday, June 11, 2024. They found two teenagers - Denisha Pittman, 15, and Kentavion Dancy, 18 – both shot several times. The two died at the scene.

Investigators said witnesses told them four suspects in red hoodies and ski masks were seen driving away from the scene in a red Lexus.

Davis was arrested and booked into the Shelby County jail months later on April 10, 2024.
