RISE Memphis to host two free computer training classes for older adults

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — New, free training classes will give older adults the opportunity to learn new computer skills in Memphis.

The Silver Neighbors Program will offer two computer training classes for adults over 65 with little computer knowledge, hosted by RISE Memphis, who seeks to empower older adults make better financial choices.

The program is free for those who live in Shelby County.

There will be two training classes:

  • Wednesday, March 13 from 10:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at St. Paul Baptist Church, 2124 East Holmes Rd. Memphis, TN 38116
  • Thursday, March 14 from 10:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at Mississippi Blvd Christian Church, 70 N. Bellevue, Memphis TN 38104

Topics to cover include learning how to navigate a computer, using an email account, internet search and safety and accessing virtual platforms.

The Silver Neighbors has also previously held programs on financial topics such as scams and fraud, Medicare, life insurance products and budgeting.
