Local 24 News has learned the boyfriend of Jessica Chambers was shot and killed Friday morning.
33-year-old Travis Sanford was found shot to death in Courtland, Mississippi. Details on the shooting have not been released. The Panola County Sheriff’s Department tells us one suspect, an unidentified man, is in custody.
Chambers’ family and friends tell Local 24 News Jessica and Travis were dating at the time of her murder.
Investigators say Chambers was found burned alive in Courtland in December 2014.
Quinton Tellis was tried twice for her murder, each ending in a mistrial with a hung jury. It has still not been decided if he’ll be tried a third time in Chambers’ murder.
Tellis also faces murder charges in Monroe, Louisiana, in the death of a college exchange student in July 2015.
