Sixty-year-old man Tate County Police said assaulted officer turned himself in, department of safety says

On Sunday, the Mississippi Department of Public Safety said that Kenneth Ray Graham turned himself in.

The Tate County Sheriff's Office was looking for a 60-year-old man they say assaulted a police officer, but on Sunday the Mississippi Department of Public Safety said that this man turned himself in.

Kenneth Ray Graham was believed by authorities to be armed and dangerous.

Sheriff Luke Shepherd released a statement, saying that he was "thankful for the deputy’s hard work, diligence and perseverance during this ordeal while enduring less than ideal weather conditions."

"It is never a good day to receive a call about shots fired at law enforcement, but I am thankful no one was injured," Shepherd said. "We are grateful for DeSoto County Sheriff’s Office, Senatobia Police Department and all of our local volunteer firemen for their response and backup to our deputies. Ultimately, everything was resolved peacefully, and that is always the goal."

This is a developing story. ABC24 will update this article with new information as it becomes available.
