Memphis Police arrested two sisters for fighting an IHOP employee Saturday night in Whitehaven.

The brawl erupted at the restaurant in the 1200 block of East Shelby Drive around 10:30 p.m., according to police.

The general manager told police that employees Janika Nellums, 21, and Shanika Strickland, 23, began fighting with other restaurnat employees.

Police said the two women caused an estimated $1,000 worth of damage.

Once of the victims told authorities that she and Nellums got into an argument over work on Friday. Both victims told authorities they fought back in self defense.

Memphis Fire made the scene, but the victims refused medical attention. Nellums was taken to Regional One for treatment and then taken to jail with Strickland.

Nellums and Strickland are charged with assault and vandalism.
