Governor, what are you thinking?

Mississippi Governor Tate Reeves would be making a great mistake if he follows through what he said in his tweet.

MEMPHIS, Tenn — In tonight’s Ransom Note: it’s time for Mississippi to get early voting.

Tennessee and Arkansas have it, so do 41 other states.

We showed you the long lines in Olive Branch on Election Day.

Lines Tennessee and Arkansas didn’t have because more than half of people voted early and in-person.

Some people, including the elderly and parents with young kids, waited as long as three hours.

But no, today in a tweet Governor Tate Reeves basically said “over my dead body.”

He posted “based on what I see in other states today, I will also do everything in my power to make sure universal mail-in voting and excuse early voting are not allowed in Mississippi while I’m governor! Too much chaos!”

With all due respect Governor, that’s shameful politics.

Did you not see how smoothly things went in Tennessee and Arkansas?

You’d rather voters wait for hours?

Oh, that’s right. Of course you would.

Because you know the longer people have to wait to vote, fewer of them will. And who can least afford to stand in line for three hours? Hourly workers.

That’s the very definition of voter suppression.

Governor don’t let Mississippi be last this time. Pass early voting.
