DESOTO COUNTY, Miss — UPDATE 4:00 p.m. - There has been limited flooding in Louisiana where the team is located. As of this afternoon, they have yet to receive an assignment to assist. They will be headed home as soon as the impacted area fills comfortable releasing them. No word on when that might be.

12:30 a.m. - The Mississippi Urban Search and Rescue Task Force in in Louisiana to help with rescue efforts from Hurricane Laura.
27 members and 8 boats are part of this team, with five people and one boat from Desoto County.
The team headed first to Baton Rouge to be briefed, and will be dispatched to Lake Charles, the area most impacted by Laura.
