Buc-ee's fans get ready! The mega travel center is coming to West Tennessee

According to a social media post from State Senator Page Walley, the Buc-ee’s is planned for a 28-acre location along I-40 at Exit 28 in Gallaway in Fayette County.

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Excitement is building for Buc-ee’s fans. The travel center superstore known for clean restrooms and lots of merchandise is coming to West Tennessee.

According to a social media post from Tennessee State Senator Page Walley, the Buc-ee’s is planned for a 28-acre location along I-40 at Exit 28 in Gallaway in Fayette County. That’s about 40 minutes northeast of Memphis.

According to the post, starting wages for Buc-ee’s employees run $17-$19 per hour plus benefits. Each center employees 175 to 250 full-time workers.

Currently, Buc-ee’s has two locations in Tennessee, both in the eastern part of the state.

The company says on average 4,000 to 8,000 cars visit a store daily, 100,000 people visit weekly, and more than 5,200,000 people visit each year. They said 80% of visitors come from outside the county, and 50% of visitors come from outside of the state. The company says its stores average more than $50,000,000 annual gross taxable sales.

Sen. Walley’s post did not include when the store can expected to be completed and opened.
