MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Memphis Police are asking for help in a 2022 cold case that has left a family struggling for answers.
MPD investigators said on Tuesday, April 26, 2022, a man was found dead in a field on Crossfield Road near Holmes Road. The medical examiner determined the man had been shot.
Investigators said it took almost a year to identify the man as David Pollard, who had been reported missing on June 4, 2021, by his sister. At the time he went missing, Pollard lived in a rooming house on New Willow Road near Getwell Road.
MPD said Pollard’s last contact was on May 25, 2021. Police said he was on the phone with his sister at the time, and he could be heard having an argument with someone in the house.
Police said they do not have any suspect information. They are asking anyone who may have seen to give them a call.
Anyone with information is asked to call the Homicide bureau at 901-636-3300, or to remain anonymous call CrimeStoppers at 901-528-CASH.
