MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Memphis Police are asking for help in solving the cold case murder of a Memphis rapper shot along Interstate 240 after leaving a show.

Ragan Martin was shot and killed Sunday, Aug. 21, 2022, just after midnight on the Perkins Rd. ramp onto I-240.

MPD investigators said Martin, who performed under the name Choppa G, had just left a show with the mother of his child and two others. They said the group traveled to the Z Market on S. Perkins, then continued onto I-240 when someone opened fire on their white Ford F150.

Police at the time said they found four people inside the truck on the ramp, three of them shot. Martin died on the scene and the two others were non-critical.

Investigators at the time of the shooting said the suspects may have been in a black sedan. No other suspect information has been released in the years since.
