MEMPHIS, Tenn. — UPDATE: MLGW told ABC24 News that repairs are expected to take most of the day Monday. The break was due to the age of the main. There are about 15 customers affected.

All east and westbound lanes in the Poplar and Greer area between Tillman and Holmes Rd. are currently blocked after a main water busted in front of East High School around midnight on Monday, Oct. 10.
Lanes were originally closed between Marne and Greer St., but MPD extended the lane closures at 6:48 a.m.
There is currently no estimated time of completion for repair. Drivers are advised to avoid the area and use detour routes.
Drivers can detour to Walnut Grove or Central Ave.
According to MPD, MLGW notified MPD that the pavement was beginning to bubble up due to the break in the water line.
MPD arrived at the scene at 12:45 a.m. MPD and MLGW are still at the scene.
