MEMPHIS, Tenn. — UPDATE 11/3/2021 - Memphis Police have charged a man accused in a shooting Tuesday afternoon along Lamar Avenue, and said he was found because he returned to the scene hours later.

Daryl Nelson is charged with attempted first-degree murder, employment of a firearm during a deadly felony, convicted felon in possession of a handgun, and theft of a gun.

According to the police affidavit, the victim had gone to the Economy Hotel in the 3800 block of Lamar Avenue about 4:30 p.m. to see a friend.
