Memphis Police said about an hour later at about 8:40 p.m., officers responded to a shooting in the 3300 block of University St. near Frayser Blvd. in Frayser. They said they found a man shot and he died at the scene.

Investigators said surveillance video was discovered and showed a man walking around the car wash parking lot before approaching the victim. They said the video showed the suspect speaking to the victim, then pulling a rifle from his front waistband and firing at the man. Police said the suspect then chased after the victim into the bay of the car wash, demanding the keys to the victim’s white 2014 Cadillac CTS.
