Shelby County mayor signs resolution for $5,000 bonus for sheriff's office employees

Mayor Lee Harris announced the bonuses for current public safety employees Friday.

MEMPHIS, Mich. — Shelby County Mayor Lee Harris announced Friday he has signed a resolution to provide bonuses for Shelby County Sheriff’s Office employees.

In a post to social media, Harris said the $5,000 bonuses for the pubic safety employees are part of an “effort to retain our county’s critical personnel.”

Harris said Sheriff Floyd Bonner and the county commission worked together on the resolution to provide the bonuses.
